- We have arranged a pre-season friendly against Todmorden at home on Saturday 10th April.
- Indoor nets at Springhill High School are running every Saturday from 1-3pm until 27th March 2010. The nets are for all senior players and the u17's, u15's and u13's.
- After being awarded grants from Sport England and the Co-operative's Membership Fund, we have been able to appoint a new head coach of the junior section. Atiq Uz Zaman is a former Pakistani Test wicketkeeper who lives in Bolton and has just qualified as a Club Coach - the ECB's new qualification for coaches. Atiq plays his club cricket at St Annes' CC in the Northern League where he is also head coach. He will work mainly with the u15 and u17 squads at Junior Practice nights on Mondays. We are hoping that Atiq will put into place a structure that can help us to continue to produce young cricketers who can progress through to the first team and beyond.
- Work on the new £76k practice nets has started. The contractors have laid the base and erected the steel cage. They are returning in March to install the security fence and lay the matting and carpet. The facility will be ready to use for the start of the season. We are also having a new non-turf match pitch on the square which will be installed at the end of the season. [Pictures]
